Hershel Floyd Akers was a roustabout in the Wichita Falls Area of Gulf Oil Corporation. He retired in 1965. He was originally employed as a Lease Pumper in the Kendall Field of Young County by Warren Petroleum Corporation. He transferred to Gulf Oil Corporation in 1958 when they assumed Warren's Production.
Survived by four sons - Floyd Wallace Akers, Fred Nelson Akers, Carl Edward Akers, Clyde Walter Akers; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
