CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Jimmie Belcher, 82, of Chapmanville, departed this life Friday, February 19, 2010, at CAMC General Division in Charleston.

Born October 13, 1927, at Crawley Creek, he was a son of the late Lee and Gertrude Butcher Belcher. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Judith Belcher; one son, Jimmie Belcher Jr.; six brothers, Tommy, Lee Jr., Jesse, Clifford, Kenneth and Lilburn Belcher, and three sisters, Elaine Conley, Easter Surgoine and Hildreth Perry.

Jimmie was a graduate of Chapmanville High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of VFW and IBEW Local 317. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Patricia (Bill) Toler of Chapmanville; three sons, Teddy (Chloie) Belcher, John (Marie) Belcher and Steve (Debbie) Belcher, all of Chapmanville; two brothers, Bob (Ernestine) Belcher and Louis (Ruth) Belcher; six grandchildren, Teresa (Joe) Rogers, Josh (Goldie) Belcher, Teddy Belcher Jr., Jonathan Richardson, Caleb Belcher and Joshua Harmon; two step-grandchildren, Tony (Andrea) Capua and Bill Capua; four great-grandchildren, Sydney Belcher, Blake Harmon, Darea Capua and Tyler Capua. He is also survived by Billie and Clifton Frye, Froud and Belva Stone and Mary Mowat.

A celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, at the Freeman Funeral Home at Chapmanville with Rev. Alfred Setser, Rev. Greg Dalton and Rev. Bob Belcher officiating. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Belcher, Joshua Harmon, Teddy Belcher, Jr., Jonathan Richardson, Caleb Belcher and Thomas Belcher.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
