Funeral Services for Vida H. Negley of Norfolk will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Howser-Fillmer Mortuary Reverend Wayne Reynolds of the First United Methodist Church will officiate, interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. She died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Beverly Health Care Center, Norfolk. She was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Arnold and Effie (Horsman) Husted. She graduated from Pierce high school, Norfolk Junior College and nurses school in Kansas City, Mo. She married Clyde Negley in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They moved to Norfolk in 1938. She worked in the medical records dept. at Lutheran Community hospital for 17 years. She worked for Dr. Desai for 2 years and for Dr. Goff for 4 years. She taught terminology at NE College for the nurses training course. She is survived by 1 daughter Vida Mae her husband Al Garcia of Chicago, Illinois., 1 grandson David of Omaha, NE., 2 granddaughters Mary her husband Cliff Blaine of Chicago, Illinois., Stephanie Larson of Seattle, WA, 3 greatgrandchildren Hayley Blaine, Saori Larson, Morgan Tickner, a sister Martha Bean of Chula Vista, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 grandson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Weslyn Women's Group and the Railroad Pheasant Lodge.
