Native of Wells County, Franklin Swartz, 74, Dies

A resident of Anderson since 1946, Franklin Swartz, 74, died at 8:34 a.m. Sunday at Wells Community Hospital.

Born June 24, 1918 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Ervin and Bessie M. Lash Swartz.

Mr. Swartz was a 1939 Bluffton High School graduate and retired in 1980 from Delco after 33 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Bluffton American Legion Post.

Surviving are four brothers, Robert Swartz, Ervin Swartz, Jr., and Virgil Swartz, all of Bluffton and Donald Swartz of Monroe, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Iser of Huntington.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, where rites will be officiated by Larry Sprinkle at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery.

Preferred are memorial contributions to Wells Community Home Health Care.
