Hoyte Wayne Moss, long-time Marshall County resident, died Thursday, July 9 in an Oklahoma City veterans hospital at the age of 63.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 11 in Watts Memorial Chapel. Interment was in the Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Mr. Moss was born Jan. 19, 1924 in Boswell. He came to Marshall County at the age of three with his parents, the late Frank and Rose Moss.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Nora L. Stephens Feb. 16, 1946 in Enos. They lived in Enos for many years before moving to Kingston where Mr. Moss lived the remainder of his life.
In addition to his wife of the home in Kingston, Mr. Moss is survived by three children, Clifton, Clifford Moss and Clytha Posey, all of Madill. He is also survived by four granchildren; four brothers, Otto of Valliant, Bill of Borger, Tex., Cecil of Wilson and J.F. Moss, Jr., of Madill and a sister, Louise Harwell of Wetumka.
Mickey Norwood officiated for services with assistance from E.J. Snider. Music was arranged by Bill Dunn with Johnnie Ruth Jacks as organist. Pallbearers were Mark Southerland, Ralph Jackson, Wayne Sliger, Jackie Nabors, Tommy Brown and Jackie Pilgrim. Flag presentation was by Fred Vanderpool and Roy Deen.
