Mrs. Martha Ordelia Newvine, 94, Waddington's oldest resident, died at the home of her son, William E. Newvine, where she resided, at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. She was the wife of the late Samuel Newvine.

Mrs. Newvine had been in good health and able to perform small duties around the house until two days before her death.

She was born in Waddington on March 28, 1853, a daughter of the late Alexander and Sophia Wheeler Stone. She was the last survivor of 14 children born to the couple. She spent her early life in Waddington and attended school there.

On Nov 23, 1870, she and Mr. Newvine were married and went to make their home in Birch Run, Mich., where they resided for five years. At the end of that time they returned to Waddington and resided on various farms in that vicinity until 13 years ago, when they came to live with their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. Newvine died on April 9, 1937.

Mr. and Mrs. Newvine had eight children: Ruth who died at the age of 2 years; John who died on April 12, 1944; Alexander Newvine of Tewkesbury, Mass; Samuel of Haines City, Fla; William of Waddington, Arthur of Edwards, Harold of British Columbia; Howard of El Paso, Texas.

She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home. The Rev. Carroll H. Fenton officiated, and burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
