MATTIE JORDAN was born in
Lawrence County, Kentucky Aug.
19, 1848 and died in Shawnee, O.
on Aug. 22, 1912, aged 64 years
and 3 days.

On November 6, 1868 she was
united in marriage to Mr. Joseph
Jaynes. Of this union eight
children were born of which num-
ber six are now living, John,
James, George, William, Frank,
and Mrs. May Robinette.

With her family she came to
Shawnee in 1878, where she has
since resided. She was converted
in the Church of God and was a
member of that church until it
disbanded. For some years she
had been a member of the Metho-
dist Episcopal Church.

She was a quiet, unassuming
woman and commanded the high-
est respect of her neighbors and
friends.

She leaves behind in the earth
life the husband, six children
and four grand children.

The funeral service was held in
the M.E. church Sunday after-
noon at one o'clock, conducted by
Rev. William Hamrick and Rev.
C. E. Turley. Burial in the
Shawnee cemetery.
