NAPA - Grace Ponti-Wagner 91, passed away at The Meadows in Napa, CA on Sunday, September 17, 2006.
Grace was born July 29, 1915 to Frederick and Clara Hatt in Bingham Canyon, Utah. She moved to Crockett, California and was educated there. She has lived in Napa, CA since 1950. Grace married Albert Arthur Ponti in 1951, he passed away in 1978. In 1979, she married Kenneth Wagner.
Grace worked as a waitress at the Grape Vine Inn and as a secretary for Napa Unified School District for 18 years. Grace was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was President of the Relief Society, a Mutual Leader with the Youth Group and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a temple worker for the Oakland Temple for about 10 years. She also enjoyed Genealogy. Grace loved the Lord and loved the Gospel. Most of all she loved family.
Grace is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wagner of Napa; a brother, Frederick Vaughn Hatt of Bountiful, Utah; a nephew, Ron Hatt of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; six nieces, Judith Hatt Souza of Napa, CA, Susan Paxton of Bountiful, Utah, Barbara Mathis of Mojave, CA, Sandra Pedersen, Sharon Garrett and Thurza Hatt all of Carmichael, CA; a great-nephew, Ron Oates of Colorado.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2006 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2590 Trower Avenue in Napa. Interment will be at St. Helena Cemetery, 2461 Spring St. in St. Helena, CA. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail in Napa, California.
