Alexander was baptized at All Hallows Parish Church in Anne Arundel Co MD. He was named for his father's half-brother, who still resided in England. He was a surveyor by trade.

"Alexander was the third named son and first named overseer of his father's will. He was given a tract of land called "Brandy" which included two plantations...; one-fifth of the residue of the estate and a ring."
From 1715 to 1728, Alexander was Vestryman for St Anne's Parish in Anne Arundel Co MD.
In 1717, the Will of Alexander's younger brother, Benjamin Warfield, names Rachel and Sarah as 'two daughters of Alexander Warfield'.
Absolute Howard (1697-bef 1718), son of Mary Warfield (d: 1699) and Captain John Howard (d: 1704), was raised by his uncle Alexander Warfield, but died young. Absolute Howard Warfield, biological s/o Alexander and Sarah, was most likely named for m.
In 1718, Alexander Warfield was sole heir of his brother-in-law Amos Pierpont and executor of that estate. Estates patented by Alexander Warfield in 1720, included "Venison Park" in Anne Arundel Co MD (now in Howard Co MD).
Excerpts from Maryland Historical Trust, Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties; Brandy, site, AA-173, North side of St Stephen's Church Rd, ½ mile east of junction with Route 3, Millersville [Map 15]:
"Brandy was an early typical English cottage of the Medieval transition style, reputedly built about 1686, but more likely c. 1710-1720. A 1-½ story framed structure apparently built in two parts, six bays long by two wide, the house had one external chimney at one end, and an internal chimney between the two sections. One façade had four apparently 6/4 sash windows and two doors below a modillioned cornice, and three dormers in the roof with 2/2 sash windows. The other façade had an irregular roofline, also with three dormers, with the central two bays covered by a projecting shed-roofed addition, and the two bays at either end covered by shed-roofed porches, one partially enclosed, and one bearing traces of sawn-work bargeboard. The gable end with the chimney had a 6/4 sash window to the left of the chimney and a small square window in the half story above. The other gable end had a 2/2 sash window centered in the gable and a 6/4 sash window below. One door has six horizontal panels, and another was a typical four panel door. A 1964 newspaper article mentions floorboards in excess of twelve inches wide."
The house was recorded in 10 Aug 1970 and samples of c. 1820 wallpaper was collected which had been applied using newspaper, one of which bore the date of 1794. In 1970, the house was fast becoming a ruin. Sadly, the house burned in the early 1970's, a neighbor reporting the remains of the house were pushed into a cellar hole. In Aug 2000, the Anne Arundel County's Lost Towns Project conducted a search of the remains and found 18th and 19th century artifacts.
In 1683, the land on which Brandy was built was patented by Alexander's father Richard, the immigrant. However, Richard preferred Warfield Plantation and left Brandy to son Alexander, who referred to his home as his "dwelling plantation."
Alexander left the plantation to his own son Richard to be his after the death of his mother, Sarah (Pierpont) Warfield. Richard's son Lancelot bought his brother's share, in turn leaving it to his son Lancelot Jr. Lancelot Jr in turn left it to his son Lancelot III, who sold the property in 1845 to a Mr Gott. Happily, this Lancelot's son, Lancelot IV, bought it back in 1882. The property remained in the Warfield family until the mid-20th century.
The red brick walls of the cemetery located near the Brandy dwelling, are now covered with concrete, renovated sometime after 1970.

Excerpts from Maryland Historical Trust, Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties; Brandy, site, AA-173, North side of St Stephen's Church Rd, ½ mile east of junction with Route 3, Millersville [Map 15]:
"Brandy was an early typical English cottage of the Medieval transition style, reputedly built about 1686, but more likely c. 1710-1720. A 1-½ story framed structure apparently built in two parts, six bays long by two wide, the house had one external chimney at one end, and an internal chimney between the two sections. One façade had four apparently 6/4 sash windows and two doors below a modillioned cornice, and three dormers in the roof with 2/2 sash windows. The other façade had an irregular roofline, also with three dormers, with the central two bays covered by a projecting shed-roofed addition, and the two bays at either end covered by shed-roofed porches, one partially enclosed, and one bearing traces of sawn-work bargeboard. The gable end with the chimney had a 6/4 sash window to the left of the chimney and a small square window in the half story above. The other gable end had a 2/2 sash window centered in the gable and a 6/4 sash window below. One door has six horizontal panels, and another was a typical four panel door. A 1964 newspaper article mentions floorboards in excess of twelve inches wide."
The house was recorded in 10 Aug 1970 and samples of c. 1820 wallpaper was collected which had been applied using newspaper, one of which bore the date of 1794. In 1970, the house was fast becoming a ruin. Sadly, the house burned in the early 1970's, a neighbor reporting the remains of the house were pushed into a cellar hole. In Aug 2000, the Anne Arundel County's Lost Towns Project conducted a search of the remains and found 18th and 19th century artifacts.
In 1683, the land on which Brandy was built was patented by Alexander's father Richard, the immigrant. However, Richard preferred Warfield Plantation and left Brandy to son Alexander, who referred to his home as his "dwelling plantation."
Alexander left the plantation to his own son Richard to be his after the death of his mother, Sarah (Pierpont) Warfield. Richard's son Lancelot bought his brother's share, in turn leaving it to his son Lancelot Jr. Lancelot Jr in turn left it to his son Lancelot III, who sold the property in 1845 to a Mr Gott. Happily, this Lancelot's son, Lancelot IV, bought it back in 1882. The property remained in the Warfield family until the mid-20th century.
The red brick walls of the cemetery located near the Brandy dwelling, are now covered with concrete, renovated sometime after 1970.

"In the name of God Amen. The twenty first Day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty three. I, Alexander Warfield of Anne Arundel County being sick in body but of good and disposing memory thereto be to Almighty God and calling to remembrance the uncertain state of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please God to call do make constitute and Declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, revoking and annulling by these presents all and every Testament and Testaments, Will and Wills heretofore by me made or declared either by word or writing and this is to be taken only for my last will and testament and none other.
"First, I bequeath my soul to Almighty God that gave to me and my body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such Decent manner as it shall please my Executors hereafter named I do think full and appoint. And now for the settling of my temporal estate and which is good as it hath pleased God to Bestow on me. I order, give and dispose the same in the manner and form following, that is to say first I will that all those Debts that I justly owe in right or conscience to any manner of person whatsoever shall be well and truly contended and paid within convenient time after my decease by my Executor following named.

I likewise give my son Samuel Warfield all the Household goods and stock which I have already possessed him with which is in full of his part of my Estate that he shall not have any claims or demand after my decease against my Estate. My will is further if my son Samuel Warfield's wife Sarah Warfield should survive him in this life during the continuance of her widowhood that she shall have full liberty to live upon the land whereon she now doth Dwell and is occupying for the benefit of herself and children and not otherwise.

Notes about the WILL: The blank before the Marriott surname may be John Marriott, husband of Alexander's daughter Sarah Elizabeth. When the full transcript of Alexander's Will was located, it did not include the Name "Philip" as a son of Alexander. Research continues for more information and to find the reason son Edward is not mentioned in the Will. It is possible he died early.

Alexander was baptized at All Hallows Parish Church in Anne Arundel Co MD. He was named for his father's half-brother, who still resided in England. He was a surveyor by trade.

Anne Arundel County MD Wills, Liber 11, f. 409-412, Hall of Records, 1703/4:
"Alexander was the third named son and first named overseer of his father's will. He was given a tract of land called "Brandy" which included two plantations...; one-fifth of the residue of the estate and a ring."
From 1715 to 1728, Alexander was Vestryman for St Anne's Parish in Anne Arundel Co MD.
In 1717, the Will of Alexander's younger brother, Benjamin Warfield, names Rachel and Sarah as 'two daughters of Alexander Warfield'.
Absolute Howard (1697-bef 1718), son of Mary Warfield (d: 1699) and Captain John Howard (d: 1704), was raised by his uncle Alexander Warfield, but died young. Absolute Howard Warfield, biological s/o Alexander and Sarah, was most likely named for m.
In 1718, Alexander Warfield was sole heir of his brother-in-law Amos Pierpont and executor of that estate. Estates patented by Alexander Warfield in 1720, included "Venison Park" in Anne Arundel Co MD (now in Howard Co MD).
