He was the grandson of Jane Empson. He was an English colonist in America. He sailed from England in 1630 and settled at Dorchester, Massachusetts Colony. In 1630 he became
"Founder of Springfield, Massachusetts" and one of its first settlers. William Pynchon married Frances Stamford after 162` in England.William Pynchon married Anna Andrews 1623-34 at Springfield Massachusetts.William Pynchon returned to England in 1652 after he wrote 'The Meritorious Price of Our Redemption', (1650). He was seen as a Church heretic for writing this tract. William Pynchon died on October 29, 1662 at Wraysbury, Bershire, England at age 72. He was buried on October 29, 1662 at Wraysbury, Buckingham, England.
A Famous son of William Pynchon was Major John Pynchon who fought in King Phillip's war.
