An excerpt from her obit:
"She was born at Eldora in this county on January 29, 1856, the daughter of Thomas and Maria Brodrick. On December 9, 1876, she became the wife of James L. Springer, who survives her. About 30 years ago they moved to Court House and for some time lived on the Mount Airy farm. Later Mr. Springer purchased the "Smith Hand house" which stood where Dr. Moon now lives, and moved it to the farm near the Fair Grounds where they have since resided, and where Mrs. Springer died."
