FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS Bertha Keller Butler was born August 10, 1919 in Cottonport, Louisiana. She was the 7th of 8 children born to the union of John and Martha Keller.

Having a strong faith in God, she began her Christian journey at the Jerusalem B.C. in Cottonport, LA. Later the family relocated to Bunkie, LA where she attended school and united with First Union B.C. On July 13, 1941 she married her best friend and sweetheart, Charlie Butler, who preceded her in death November 20, 2007.

They moved to San Francisco, CA for a brief time and later in 1945 made Chicago their home. In 1945 she united with the South Shore B.C. and later moved her church membership to Cathedral of Love B.C. in 1967 where she worked diligently for the Lord.

She and her husband, Reverend Charlie Butler were led by God to become chartered members of Mission of Faith B.C. under the leadership of the late Dr. Eugene L. Gibson, Sr. in 1977. She remained a faithful member under the pastorate of Reverend Michael L. Randle.

She was an active participant in numerous ministries, including the Christian Education Department, Deaconess Ministry, Mothers' Board, Pastor's Love and Senior Citizens Ministry. She was also active in the Chicago Park District Versatile Seniors and the Friendly Set Club.

After a long illness, Mother Butler's earthly journey came to a close on Sunday, October 12, 2008.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: devoted daughter, Linda (Lou) Burrus; faithful niece, Lou Elma Jamerson; countless nieces, nephews, godchildren and a host of family, friends, and the Mission of Faith Church family.
