Micajah Paulk and family moved with his brother, John Paulk, R.S., to Wilkinson County, Ga., very soon after its creation. John remained there but Micajah and family a few years later moved to Laurens County and settled on the eastern side of the county in territory now in Coffee County near where Oscar Paulk, a descendant, lived a few years ago. The 1846 tax-digest of Irwin County shows him the owner of 3430 acres (lot numbers not given) in the 5th District where he lived. He died there in November 18, 1847 and his widow died August 9, 1848. He is shown in the 1840 Census of Irwin County, age 70-80 years. Source: PIONEERS OF WIREGRASS GEORGIA,(VOL 1), pages 222-223.

In 1804 his father gave him a gift of a slave boy named Steven. Received 200 acres of land in Montgomery Co in 1814. In 1846 he owned 3430 acres in the 5th district census of 1830 & 1840 Irwin Co.Georgia.

Sarah, born about 1795 married John Smith
Elizabeth, born about 1796 married Reubin Gray
