A retired security guard for the Phillips refinery, he was a native of Raines County, Texas, and a Borger resident for 43 years.
He is survived by a stepson, A.W. Dawson, of Borger; a brother, Halford C. Burchett, of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Geneva Carter, of Mineola, Texas; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Richard Appling of the First Baptist Church in Borger officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Directors.
