KEENE, FAYE HOWARD, 85, of Fern Creek, died Saturday, May 23, 2009. She was a retired secretary at St. Gabriel School, a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and Golden Age Club #3 and a volunteer at Baptist Hospital East. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, James Keene Sr.; daughter, Susanne Minch (Dennis); sons, James Jr. (Carolyn), Joseph William (Rita), David (Lourie), Pat (Janet), John Michael and Mark (Lauren) Keene; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Buckler and Sr. Susan Howard. Her funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be given to her church.

FAYE HOWARD KEENE, 85, Fern Creek, died May 23, 2009. Keene retired as a secretary for St. Gabriel School. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and a volunteer at Baptist Hospital East. She was preceded in death by: her parents, John W. and Mary A. Madden Howard; two brothers, Dr. William E. and Madden Howard; and two sisters, Richey Howard Humkey and Sr. Johanna Howard. Survivors include: her husband, James Keene Sr.; a daughter, Susanne Minch; six sons, James, Jr., Joseph William, David, Pat, John Michael and Mark Keene; two sisters, Jeanne Buckler and Sr. Susan Howard; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass was held May 27 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Fern Creek with entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. Memorial gifts can be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, Fern Creek. Fern Creek Funeral Home on Bardstown Road in Fern Creek was in charge of arrangements.
