Little Boy Dies At Tulsa

Harold Eaton, Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eaton, Died Suddenly.

Word was received in the city last night at 7 o'clock from Tulsa, Okla., that Harold Eaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Eaton, of 314 North Fourth street, had died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed J. Fleming in that city, after an illness which had lasted for only a few hours. This little boy went to Tulsa Tuesday morning in company with Mr. Fleming, for a visit with Master Francis Fleming, who was a playmate of his here several years ago when the Fleming family resided next door to the Eaton family on North Fourth street. The boys were fast friends and Francis had visited the Eaton boy here on one or two occasions since the family moved to Tulsa. The cause of the boy's death is said to have been potmain posioning and locked bowels. It is said that the boy and Mr. Fleming ate lunch at Pawhuska the day they went from here to Tulsa, and that he probably was posioned by something he took into his stomach at that time. He was taken violently ill that night at 10 o'clcok after reaching Tulsa, and grew steadily worse until the end came last evening at the time stated above.

The parents were advised of his condition by wire yesterday afternoon and later in the evening a message was received that he had passed away. It is said that the best medical skill that could be obtained in the city of Tulsa was retained in an effort to save the boy's life, but he could not be cured. Three physicians attended him until the end came.

The parents of the boy left the city last night for Tulsa and would not reach that place until 8 o'clock this morning, as they were compelled to go by way of Winfield and Parsons, Kansas. Arrangements for the funeral of Harold Kenneth Eaton, who was 10 years of age, will not be made until the arrival of the parents here, with the body. The said and sudden death of the boy, who was a bright and energetic little fellow, is a very severe blow to the parents and the other relatives who reside here.
