The funeral service for John William Braith, 79, Wadena, was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1992, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena with Father James D. Hahn officiating.
Pallbearers were John Kinn, Vern Quiram Jr., Vance Quiram, Jamie Braith, Shawn Braith, Brian Richter, David Richter, Jerry Shultz, Jay Braith and Bradley Braith.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Wadena. Arrangements were by the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.
John Died Oct. 31 ath Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
Survivors include three sons, Jim of Montevideo, Sheldon of Wadena and Jeff of Staples; four daughters, Darlene Carter of Alaska, Diane Quiram of Frazee, Debra Shultz of Wadena and Doris Richter of Hector; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Henry of Frazee, Albert of Staples, Peter of Staples, Frank of Wakena and Hubert of Little Falls; and four sisters, Tracy Ament of Sebeka, Agnes Kaufman of Bluffton, Angeline Boyer of Duluth and Mathilda Walimaa of Sebeka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in 1968; his parents; and a daughter, Delma Mae Schafer.
John was born March 14, 1913, in Rockwood Township, Wadena County, to John and Martha (Bushinger) Braith.
On Dec. 1, 1937, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Evelyn Kautz in Bluegrass, Minn.
John worked 35 years with Burlington Northern as a section man for the railroad. He was a life-time member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, and enjoyed gardening, his children and grandchildren.
