Her obit says she was a native of Bakersfield and died on Tuesday, 17 Oct 1950 at the home of a daughter in Long Beach, California.
That would be her daughter Esther, into whose house she moved after the death of her husband John. Esther's second husband "Carl" Johnson was an oil field drill rig worker and the family moved to wherever the well was being drilled from southern to central California, including their permanent home at 1927 20th Street in Bakersfield, Kern County, California.
As a young lad I met "Granny" Leila in the late 1940's when the family got together for holiday gatherings.
