Services for Oleta Nipp Self of Leon, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, Okla., with interment to follow in the Jimtown Cemetery, Jimtown, Okla. Officiating will be Rev. Don Keizor, Melvin Dewayne Self and Rev. Angela Harrison.

Mrs. Self was born July 25, 1941, in Post Oak, Okla., the daughter of Con and Pearl Powell Nipp. She passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 68.

Mrs. Self grew up and attended school at Simon, Okla., Meadowbrook, Okla., and Marietta, graduating from Turner High School in 1959. In May 1973, she received an Associate of Science degree (Registered Nurse) from Grayson County College. After marrying Raymond L. Self in Marietta on January 28, 1961, the couple made their home in Oklahoma City, Okla., Madill, Okla., Pottsboro, Texas, Denison, Texas, Snyder, Texas, Marietta and then Leon. Mrs. Self was employed as a Registered Nurse for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Claude Nipp of Wilson, and Floyd Nipp of Oakland, Nebraska; and three sisters, Parlee Russell of Leon, Meady Mae Vernon of Simon, and Elnora Phillips of Ardmore.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Self of the home at Leon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Shelly Self of Leon, and Scott and Belinda Self of Wilson; a daughter and son-in-law, Radonna and Gene Gorley of Ardmore; six brothers, Clyde Nipp of Simon, Conver Nipp, Gene Nipp and Donald Nipp of Wilson, John Nipp of Overbrook, Okla., and Curtis Nipp, also of Simon; four sisters, Lorene Montgomery of Marietta, Nadine Goode of Wilson, Carolyn Westmoreland of Ardmore, and Linda Williams of Rubottom, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Serving as casket bearers will be Joe Russell, Justin Nipp, Travis Nipp, Keith Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Duffy Goode, Timmy Nipp, Mark Montgomery, David Vernon, Dale Vernon and Bill Russell. Honorary bearers are Nolen Hicks, Marion Hicks, Joel Hicks, Dewey Hicks, Randall Blakemore, Roger Blakemore; nephews, Bill Self, Gerald Keller, Robert Eppler, Benjamin Adasha, Chris Eppler and Leo Eppler; grandsons, granddaughters and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
