J. Irene Conner , 78, of East Peoria died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 1996, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Born Nov. 22, 1917, in Russellville, Ala., to Ross and Mary Black Pounders, she married Ernest Conner on April 9, 1943, in Grenada, Miss. He died Nov. 28, 1979, in Peoria.
One son, Harold, one daughter, Faye Murray, one grandson and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Brenda Holler and Mrs. Terry (Phyllis) Seals, both of East Peoria; one brother, Chester Pounders of Sycamore; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Hill of Russellville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Russellville.
Private graveside services will be at Fondulac Cemetery.
