Augusta - Rudolph Amerling, 79, Route 1, Augusta, died Friday at St. Joseph;s Hospital, Chippewa Falls.
He was born in Eau Claire county and married Blanche Hitts Dec. 21, 1938, in Shepherd, Mich. He worked in trucking in Michigan until 1972 when the couple moved to the town of Wilson. They farmed until retirement in 1971.
Survivors include his wife; four step-sons, Kenneth Hitts, Route 1, Augusta; Ronald Hitts, Russell Hitts, both of Grand Rapids, mich.; Robert Hitts, Saginaw, mich.; a step-daughter, Mae Zimmerman, Seward, Alaska; a brother Frank, Milwaukee; two sisters, Theresa Whiteside, Eau Claire, Clara Schuler, Janesville; and 30 step grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 am Tuesday, St. Peter's Catholic Church, town of Wilson. Friends may call until 9 pm today at Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott. The rosary will be said at 8 pm today at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery.
