Joel L. McFadden, 40, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He was born September 8, 1969 at Oskaloosa, and was the son of Jim and Kay Slusher. He graduated from the Oskaloosa Senior High School with the class of 1987. He worked at several pizza restaurants in Oskaloosa, including Happy Joe's and Pizza Hut for many years. He loved the Chicago Cubs and the Buffalo Bills, and sports in general, but especially car races. He set a goal to make every dirt track in the state of Iowa, and he accomplished that feat. His family includes his parents, Jim and Kay Slusher of Keokuk; a brother and his wife, Jason and Candy McFadden of Fremont; a stepbrother: Brandon Slusher of Keokuk; two nieces and a nephew: Tosh and Gracie McFadden and Hunter McFadden; and two uncles: Ralph Bradshaw of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mark (& Missy) Neff of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph Bradshaw and Marilyn Neff; and an uncle, Chad Neff.
