Flossie Marie (White) Garvin was born on October 7, 1936 in Radium, Texas, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Nancy Marie Essary White. She married Glin Arthur Garvin on July 28, 1951 in Stamford. He preceded her in death in 1991. Flossie worked throughout her early life as a waitress for various food establishments and later worked as a caregiver for those who needed assistance at home. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading and gardening. Flossie also enjoyed watching a good movie and her soap operas and the companionship of her pets. She was a member of the Foursquare Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rosetta Marie Garvin; a son, Anthony Dale Garvin; a sister, Lorene Burke; brothers, Thelon Jones, Alvin, Frank and Harvey White; a son in law, Henry Reed; and a grandson, Steven Derrick. Flossie Garvin is survived by her two daughters, Treva Reed Vance and husband Ronnie of Stamford, Teresa Loper and husband Joel of Bowie; three sons, Glendal Ray Garvin and wife Gaylene of Bowie, Darwin Garvin of Stamford, James Garvin and wife Stacye of Abilene; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Minnie Walker of Stamford, Mary Kierepka, Katherine Clem, both of Haskell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
