Smith of Cicero, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Goodrich, Kankakee, Ill. Funeral services, Tuesday; 2 p.m. Hoffman Chapel. Interment in America Legion section Forest Lawn. -Omaha World Herald, June 23, 1940.

World War I, Engineer, Enlisted March 4, 1918 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Arrived in France on June 7, 1918 and then moved to Camp Taylor, Kentucky on 12/10/1918 because of bone and heart disease. Discharged March 3, 1919
