Maude was the daughter of Julius Devillo and Therina Candace (Huntington) Smith. On August 24, 1898, she married Walter Reed Gould in St. Louis, Michigan. They had a baby boy that died at 6 days old in 1899. They later had a son named Lawrence and a daughter named Esther. Maude passed away at the age of 37 from carcinoma in her lower jaw. She was buried on June 14th, 1912.
