Freelan Henry Bryan, resident of Cloud County for the past 69 years, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Shank, 424 East Eleventh Street on Monday evening. Mr. Bryan had been making his home at the Hotel Cecil for the past several months and was taken to the Shank home about ten days ago when he became ill.
He was born in Springfield, Ill., December 16, 1871, and was 77 years old at the time of his death. He came to Cloud County, Kansas with his parents in 1880 and had made his home here since that time. He was employed on the Harold Lagasse farm from 1935 until a few months ago, when his health failed and he was forced to give up his work.
Surviving are one brother, Harvey Bryan of Sacramento, Calif., and two nephews: Dr. Dewey Wallace, of Belleville and Morg. Wallace, address unknown. and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, at 10 o'clock, at the Chaput Funeral home and burial was made at Pleasant Hill cemetery. The IOOF Lodge was in charge of the services at the grave.
