William Oscar Hixson, in his eighty-second year, passed away at his home at Hillsdale Friday morning last, of diabetes. He came to Mills county from Missouri about twelve years ago. The remains were taken to Blanchard on the Missouri-Iowa line for burial. As a member of the
G. A. R. he was given all honors by the comrades.
Mr. Hixson was twice married and is survived by his second wife, also five children by the first wife and four by the second. Harry, the youngest, is a member of Company I, from Mills county. Among his children living in this county are Mrs. Muldowney of Balfour, and Will and Claude Hixson near Hillsdale. (Mrs Muldowney - Josephine Hixson Muldowney)
