Mary is the daughter of Joel Phillips and Elizabeth Hawkins Phillips Trammell. Her tombstone shows she was born December 1, 1865, however, she is shown on the 1860 St. Clair County, Alabama census as age 1, and the 1900 Talladega County, Alabama census shows her birth date as December 1858.

Funeral Services held here Monday for Mrs. Wheelock

Funeral services were held at the residence at 1030 Front street at 4 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Mary Wheelock, 73, long resident of Anniston who died at her home Sunday afternoon. Rev. L. N. Claxton, pastor of the First Baptist church, conducted the services. Interment was made in Edgemont cemetery. Usrey was in charge.

Mrs. Wheelock was born in Ragland but had been living here for the last 20 years. She had been sick for seven months.

Surviving are three sons, J. W., Lonnie and Robert Wheelock, of Anniston, and one daughter, Mrs. Lela Nall, of Bessemer.
