Silas Young Collins, aged 75, farmer and minister, passed away Dec. 27 at 5:40 a.m. at his home near Hindsville. A former resident of Witter, he had made his home with a son for the past seven years.
He was born in Douglas County, Mo., Nov. 25, 1872, the son of Tipton Collins and Haley Martin Collins. He was a member of the Christian Union Church for 52 years.
Survivors include a son, Tipton Collins, Hindsville; three daughters, Mrs. Arby Warford and Mrs. Roxie Croushorn, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Viola Collins, Malvern, Iowa.
Services conducted by Rev. Doyle Alderson, Baptist minister of Hindsville were held at the Wharton Creek cemetery at 2 p.m. on Dec. 29, with arrangements by the Brashears Funeral Home.
