Funeral Services Held For Harvey Lee Cobb, 80, "Savannah Reporter," February 1957
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Harvey Lee Cobb, Savannah, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Cecil Swinehart and Rev. O. H. Loomis officiating. Mr. Cobb died Friday. Burial was in the Savannah Cemetery under the direction of the Rich Funeral Home.
Mr. Cobb, son of Elisha and Polly Ann Cobb, was born near Rosendale on Dec. 11, 1876, and died at the Missouri Methodist Hospital at the age of 80 years. In 1897 he was married to Josie Kellogg who died in 1949. To them four children were born, all of whom survive. They are Florence Bennett of Paducah, Ky.; Miss Irene Cobb of Savannah; Mrs. Carrie Dallemand, of Loveland, Colo.; and Orla Cobb of Oxnard, Calif. Other surviving relatives are a brother, J. C. Cobb of Maywood, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Castle of Stewartsville, Mo.; Mrs. Lena Fetzner of St. Joseph; Mrs. Maggie Corwin of Torrence, Calif.; and Mrs. Emma Baldwin of Resed, Calif.
Mr. Cobb had lived in Andrew County the greater part of his life, having been a resident of Savannah 50 years where he was a merchant 40 years. He was a member of the Christian Church where he served on the official board for 40 years and was elected elder emeritus. He was also a member of the Modern Woodman of American Lodge. He served on the city council for eight years.
