Funeral services were held, Monday at 2:30 PM for Mrs. Mary Marie Castle, 76, who passed away at her home Saturday, October 7. Rev. Melvin Chambers conducted the service at the Heaton Bowman's East Chapel in St. Joseph. Robert T. Grobbs, organist accompanied Mrs. Alta Ezzell, soloist who sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "He Holds My Hands." Pallbearers were Clarence Castle Junior, Herbert Castle Junior, Forest Castle, Jack Haenni, Ronald Schweitzer and Oris Corwin. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary Marie Castle was born in Buchanan County as the daughter of Elisha and Polly Ann Cobb. She was married to Orville James Castle on April 9, 1913. Mrs. Cassel had resided on a farm in the Stewartsville community for the past 20 years, after moving there from French Bottom, where she resided for 33 years. She was a member of the 3rd St., Presbyterian Church of St. Joseph. She is survived by her husband, Orville James and one son, James Russell Castle; two sisters, Maggie Corwin of Torrance, California, and Emma Baldwin of Reseda, California; five granddaughters and one foster granddaughter, Mrs. Herman Crumb, Amazonia, Mrs. Jack Galbraith, Rosendale, Mrs. Glenn Hontz, Mrs. Tom Russell, and Miss Becky Castle of Stewartsville, Mrs. Larry Wright, Amity and 12 great grandchildren.
