Son of Edward Ingram and Elizabeth Bench. He married Ann Smith on 12 August 1838 in Nuneaton, Warwick, England. They were the parents of nine children, born in England. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1848 in England and was immigrating to Utah with his family when he died. His descendants lived in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and California.

the rest of the family. First to go were John (age 24) and his wife Harriett
Hall, Mary (21), Thomas (18), Joseph (16), and George (8) on the ship John J
Boyd, which left Liverpool on April 23, 1862. Four years later, Ann (48),
Edward (51), Edward Jr., Charles, and Hyrum sailed on the ship Arkwright,
which left Liverpool on May 30, 1866, and arrived in New York City on July
6. Edward found work as a laborer in Newark and died in a construction
accident on October 2, 1866 (age 51). He is buried in historic Fairmount
Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey (location noted many years ago as "Adult Row
No. 11 and the 4th grave. Number 1023.").
Ann, Edward, Jr., Charles, and Hyrum traveled to Utah in the John Gillespie
Company in 1868. Ann never remarried and died in 1912, at age 92, in Nephi,
Utah.
Remnants of Edward's diary exist in which he records the fates of his
parents and siblings, his religious conversion, the journey on the
Arkwright, and some family baptisms. Access it via Ann Smith Ingram's
