Lucy Isaacs was a pioneer school teacher in Graham. She was the oldest of five children. When Miss Lucy Kirk was 15 years of age, she moved with her parents to Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Louisville high school and Normal School. Miss Kirk took University courses before her marriage.
She had lived with her daughter in Graham since 1918 while her husband was working in Victoria, Texas.
The couple moved to Graham in 1918 from Rockdale, Milam County, Texas.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church officiated by Rev. Oscar T. Moline, her pastor. Mrs. Isaacs was a faithful member of the First Christian Church. Her benevolence was still talked about in the 1970s by church members who held her in high esteem.
Survived by a daughter; two sisters - Mrs. Lou Hudson of Rockdale and Miss Margaret H. Kirk; one brother - E.B. Kirk of Louisville, Kentucky; one granddaughter.
