BRUNSWICK — Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Kennedy, 84, of Brunswick died on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was born on March 20, 1925, in New Gloucester, a daughter of Eleanor Mott and Wallace Bragdon. She graduated from New Gloucester High School in 1942.

She married Merle D. Kennedy on July 2, 1950, in New Gloucester. She worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital, now Parkview Adventist Medical Center, for 20 years, retiring on April 30, 1990.

An active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brunswick, she volunteered for many years after retirement, as treasurer and secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service Center in Brunswick.

She was predeceased by a sister, Muriel; and seven brothers, Edwin, Charles, Harrison, Kenneth, Alden, Avery and Sidney.

She is survived by her husband, Merle; a son, Richard Kennedy and his wife, Lisa; a daughter, Sandy Rudman and her husband, Carl; four grandchildren, Sean Rudman, Kelly Rudman, Jayme Horr and Dana Kennedy; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Bragdon Jr., and his wife, Dolly; a brother-in-law, Charlie Fortier; a sister-in-law, Arlene; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor and the love that she showed to all.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brunswick. A reception will follow. Burial will be at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland at 11 a.m. Monday.
