Prudence Virginia "Prudy" Graham
Prudence Virginia "Prudy" Graham, 86, of Marion died 11:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born Sunday, Oct. 29, 1922, in Alton, to Charles A. and Ruby (Snethen) Richmond. She married Harold Gene Graham on Oct. 23, 1971, in Wood River and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2003.Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with the Rev. Chuck Ellis presiding. Interment will follow at Smith-Veterans Cemetery in Jefferson County. She is survived by a son, Dean Castillo and wife Stace of Alton; three daughters, Evelyn "Mary" Myers and husband Robert of Lake of Egypt, Kathleen Rehder and husband Ray of Hazelwood, Mo., and Helen Weiss and husband Dave of Tipton, Mich.; a brother, Edward Richmond of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Miguel Castillo; one brother, Charles Richmond; and four sisters, Agnes, Goldie, Vinita and Katherine. "Prudy" was a cook at the Lewis and Clark Restaurant in Alton and dearly loved by her children.
