Octavia was called to her eternal home with her heavenly father on January 24, 2010.
Octavia was born and raised in State Line, Mississippi, to the late Julius B. and Sallie Jones. Octavia graduated from State Line High School, lived for a while in Waynesboro, Mississippi and Mobile, Alabama before returning to live the remainder of her life in State Line, Mississippi. She was married to the late Johnny Thomas Letchworth from Jacksonville, Florida.
Octavia worked at State Line High School as secretary to the principal for many years and then worked for and retired from First State Bank, State Line, Mississippi. Octavia was an active member of County Line Baptist Church, working as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher and Church Clerk for many, many years. Octavia was also an avid reader.
Octavia is survived by her children Johnny Letchworth and his wife Donnie of Mobile, Alabama; Irene Letchworth and her husband Lee of Panama City, Florida; Bobby Letchworth and his wife Early Mae of State Line, Mississippi; Timmy Letchworth of State Line, Mississippi; and Terry Letchworth of State Line, Mississippi. Four grandchildren: Charlene Dupree; Leslie Letchworth; Andy Letchworth and wife Jennifer; Stacey Letchworth and wife Jennifer. Five great grandchildren: Jocelyn Dupree, Ethan Letchworth, Cole Letchworth, Jaylyn Letchworth, and Haley Letchworth. Four Siblings: Julius Leo Jones and wife Rachel; Alvia Burney and husband Buddy; Elena Smith and husband Fred; Robert H. Jones and wife Virginia; plus numerous other family and friends.
Octavia was preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Letchworth, her sisters Delphia Boyles, Geneva Hough, and Sallie Mellanee Jones, and her parents Julius B. and Sallie Jones.

A celebration of Octavia's life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30,2010 at County Line Baptist Church, 614 County Line Church Road, State Line, Mississippi. Graveside service will be immediately following celebration.
