Mrs. Loftis died Monday Jan. 25, 2010, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. She was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Klondike to Robert Carl and Rosa Ella Hooten. She married Teal Loftis on Dec. 11, 1935, in Clovis, N.M. He died April 7, 1995. She was a member of Kress Keenagers, TOPS and Kress United Methodist Church for 51 years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Bill Mitchell of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Sibyl Maxwell of Borger and Dorothy Passons of Amarillo; five grandsons, Paul and Shellie Mitchell, Bryan and Deana Mitchell, Philip and Sheila Mitchell, Brandon and Davia Jarrett, and Warren Jarrett; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her husband; one daughter, Glenna Jarrett Northcutt; two brothers, Hollis and Haskell Hooten; four sisters, Lola Sloan, Rena Shores, Erma Goodin and Bonnibel Ash; and her parents are deceased.
