Virgil Scarbrough, 74, of 955 Illinois Ave., Elgin, died Tuesday in his home.
Born May 18, 1906, in Centralia, he was the son of Elmer and Anna Manring Scarbrough, and was employed by the Elgin Corrugated Box Co. before retiring.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel R. Hawkins Scarbrough, to whom he was married in 1925; two sons, Lowell and Russell Scarbrough both of Elgin; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Donna) Rouley of Elgin; three brothers, Levi of Dixon, Archie of Elgin and Joe of Hernando, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Schwitters of Lyndon; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Friday in the Wait, Ross, Allanson Funeral Chapel, Elgin, the Rev. Willis A. Reed officiating. Burial will be in Lake Street Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elgin.
