Services for Velma Boswell will be held tomorrow at noon at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Frank Cosgrove officiating. She will lie in state from 11 p.m. until noon. Mrs. Boswell, 99, of Rose Hill, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at her residence. She was a long-time resident of Meridian. Her vocation in life was being a caregiver and she did that well. She returned to her family home in Rose Hill to take care of her handicapped brother and there she resided for many years until her death. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Survivors include her son, Joseph Boswell; three daughters, Melanie Theobald and husband Bernard, Martha Ann Burdick and Rose Mary Anderson and husband Jim; two sisters, Sister Mary Teresa Finnegan and Martha Rose Burns; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lamar Boswell. Pallbearers will be Charles Theobald, Scott Martin, Bryan Martin, Zachary Martin, Randy Bustard, Randall Bustard, Charles Finnegan, Marvin Martin, Ray Lewis, Ashley Lewis, Ronnie Finnegan, Freddy Bergen and Dan Gorgas. Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
