Harriet Barnett Shoemaker Reichard, 93, of Cumming, Ga., died Friday, September 9, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Reichard moved to Cumming, Ga. in 2002 from New Bethlehem.
She was the daughter of Joseph Parker and Eva Irene Barnett.

She married Ozni Henry Shoemaker. He preceded her in death. She then married Alfred C. Reichard. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Cumming First Baptist Church and was very active with the Forsyth County Senior Center.

Survivors include a daughter, H. Joanne Earley and her husband, Jim, of Cumming, Ga.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Shoemaker of Distant; a sister, Ilene Crawford of Indiana; and a brother, Byron Barnett of New Bethlehem.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by and infant daughter; a son, Herbert Leroy Shoemaker; three sisters, Irene Magnus, Marie McEwen and Maxine Wolcott; and a brother, Joseph Barnett.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Cumming First Baptist Church, Forsyth County Senior Center or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcdonaldandson.com.
