Margaret was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Jeffries/Jeffres) Wiggins. She was born in Union Township, Fayette Co. PA.
Family lore reports that the ancestors of John Wiggins, brought the family name to America with the William Penn (1644-1718), colony of settlers from England. This could mean that they arrived as early as 1682 and settled in Pennsylvania.
She married Perry C. Bolsinger on 29 Feb 1844 in Menallen Twp,. the Rev. S.E. Hudson officiating.
They had thirteen children. The first two were born in New Salem, Fayette Co. PA. and the third one in Pleasant Grove, Clayton Co., Iowa, the next seven in Waveland, Delaware Co., Iowa, the 11th in Colony, Delaware Co. Iowa which became Colesburg where the last two were born.
The children's name and dates are as follows; James Knox Polk, (1844-1929), Christopher Wiggins, (1846-1894), John William, (1847-1848), Elias Jefferies, (1849-1884), Andrew Jackson, (1851-1840), Isabella M., (1853-1935), Elizabeth Jane, (1855-1949), Margaret Ellen, (1858-1878), Minerva Ann, (1860-1889), Emma Florence, (1862-) and Montana, (1866-1943). Three of her children are buried in the same cemetery as she and her husband.
