Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Othmar D. "Frosty" Boeckmann, 79, of Eden Valley, who died Tuesday at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Rev. Virgil Braun will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. Friday atDingmann's Eden Valley Funeral Home. Eden Valley Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Eden Valley.
Frosty was born July 20, 1923 in Eden Valley to Joseph & Barbara (Nies) Boeckmann. He married Mary MacDonald on Oct. 23, 1948 at Portau Port, Newfoundland. Frosty operated Boeckmann Refrigeration in Eden Valley for more than 40 years. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He will be remembered for his dedication to his large and loving family, and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a remarkable and caring man who, with his wife Mary, raised a family of 13 blessed children. He loved fishing (especially on the ice), the Twins and Vikings, and playing cards with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Eden Valley; sons, daughters, and their spouses, Ronald & Barbara of Richmond, Michael of St. Paul, Douglas & Mary Beth of Minneapolis, David & Susan of Minneapolis, Daniel of Alexandria, Thomas & Ann of Minneapolis, John & Petey of Watkins, Richard & Dalena of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey of Golden Valley, Joan & Doug Klein of Eden Valley, Beverly & Richard Schaff of Maple Grove, Elizabeth & Keith Westrup of Rockford, Mary & Joseph Kramer of Watkins; brothers and sister, Wendelin of St. Augusta, Sylvester of Cold Spring, Elmer of Richmond, and Sister Francetta, OSF of Little Falls; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gregor, Alfred, and Benedict; and sisters, Hildegard, Ludvina, Marcella, and Coletta.
