Mr. Paul E. Rhoden, age 95, of Macclenny, Fla. went home to be with his lord and Saviour on January 23, 2010. Born to the late Carl and Mamie Johns Rhoden on January 19, 1915. He was preceded in death by son, Edward Wray Rhoden, brothers Horace and Herbert Rhoden and his sister, Evelyn Rhoden. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Violet Rhoden of Macclenny, Fla.; his daughter, Paula Rhoden; his son, Phil Rhoden (Debbie); grand-daughter, Jana Sowell (Kevin); great grandchildren, Kallie, Kaleb and Taylor Sowell all of Macclenny, Fla. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. During WWII he felt a sense of duty to his country and enlisted in the Army Air Corp where he became a pilot. After serving his country he purchased Crockett's Sundries in Macclenny, Fla. which later became known as Paul's Rexall Drug Store, where he was known to all as the only registered pharmacist in town for many years. He and his wife, Violet continued the business until 1977 when they retired. From then on, he enjoyed his passion for turkey hunting, spending time with his family, who he loved and cherished so much. He will always be known as a man of honor, honesty and high moral standing; a true testament to those of his generation. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 2 P.M. in the Macclenny Church of God with Rev. Shannon Conner, Pastor of Macclenny Church of God officiating and assisted Rev. David Thomas, Pastor of the Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, Fla. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Christian Fellowship Temple. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Community Hospice of N.E.
