RHODEN Paula Diane Rhoden, 70, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Community Hospice's Acosta-Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville following an extended illness. Paula was born on April 20, 1946 to the late Paul and Violet Rhoden. She was a life long resident of Macclenny. Paula was a graduate of the University of Florida's College of Pharmacy and worked alongside her father, Paul Rhoden as a registered pharmacist at Paul's Rexall Drugs in Macclenny, Florida. She later went on to work at Northeast Florida State Hospital where she retired after 22 years of service in 2005. Her greatest accomplishment was on June 4, 2016, when she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Paula was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Edward Wray Rhoden. She is survived by husband, Randy Long; brother, Phil Rhoden (Debbie); niece, Jana Sowell (Kevin); great-nieces and nephew, Kallie, Taylor, and Kaleb Sowell; all of Macclenny; as well as numerous cousins whom she cherished many childhood memories with. A celebration of Paula's life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Guerry Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Hodges, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Paula's honor to Community Hospice Foundation for Caring at 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
