Homer Lonzo McCarter

Homer Lonzo McCarter, age 91, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010, at NHC Healthcare.

He was a native of Leoma, TN, member of Meadowview Baptist Church, and retired from the U.S. Navy and a veteran of WWII. His parents were the late Horace L. McCarter and Mary Sizemore McCarter. He was also preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Smith; five brothers, one grandson, and one granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife: Pauline Brown McCarter of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters: Barbara Early of Athens, AL and Paula Smith of Ocala, FL; two sisters: Blanche Jones and Nettie Brown, both of Lawrenceburg, TN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Homer Lonzo McCarter were conducted Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home with Charles Gresham officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangement; condolences may be sent to its website.
