Mr. McCarter is survived by his wife of 27 years: Polly Ann McCarter; two sons: Rick McCarter (Sharlene) of Winter Haven, FL and James McCarter (Enice) of Bartow, FL; two step-sons: Tommy Odom of Lakeland, FL and David Odom (Carol) of Winter Haven, FL; two daughters: Donna McCarter of Winter Haven, FL and Teresa Thomas (Matt) of Winter Haven, FL; one step-daughter: Becky Phillips (Terry) of Winter Haven, FL; two brothers: Oscar and Homer McCarter, both of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sisters: Nettie Lou Brown and Blanche Jones, both of Tennessee; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services for David Franklin McCarter were conducted Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Church of Christ Cemetery in Eagle Lake, FL. Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
