Quentin (Summers) Booker, 91, of Checotah, Ok passed from this life on January 21, 2010. She was a lifetime resident of Checotah and a member of the First Baptist Church. Quentin was the bookkeeper for the City of Checotah for over 35 years. She enjoyed working; her work was her hobby.Quentin was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, and the love of her life, D. E. (Short) Summers in 1957; her husband of 44 years Clyde Booker in 2006; step-daughter Clydene Mullins; brother Nuell Toon; and two sisters Abigail Powers and Beatrice Hardin. She is survived by her daughters Linda McCutchen and husband Herbert of Checotah and Janie Gibbs and husband Jim of Grove, OK; a step-son Otto Medlin; four grandchildren, Jason Gibbs, Scott McCutchen, Shelly Threet and Kelly McCutchen; two step-grandchildren, Jeff Mullins and Vicki Taft; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous other extended family and friends. Funeral services for Quentin will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Checotah, with Rev. Bill Sherrill officiating. Casket bearers will be Jim Gibbs, Jason Gibbs, Scott McCutchen, Tim Frame and Bobby Frame. Interment will follow services at Greenlawn Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Mortuary, Checotah.
