Emma Gene Langley died at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas. She was born September 27, 1919, in Oplin, Texas to Columbus Eugene and Emma Arnold Atwood. She married Burley O. Langley, on January 5, 1935, in Abilene, Texas. She moved to Eunice in 1942. She was chosen as "Mrs. Eunice" in 1950. She taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church. She loved working in her yard, sewing, crocheting, traveling, music, and reading her favorite book, the Bible.

Survivors include her two sons, Otis Wayne Langley of Andrews, Texas. Weldon Langley and wife Rene of Odessa, Texas, two daughters, Delores Payne and husband Ronald of Albuquerque: Barbara Baggett of Eunice; one sister; Wanda Keith and husband Hollis of Arvada, Colorado; one brother; Johnny Atwood and wife Tommie of Abilene, Texas; eight grandchildren, Cathy Studley and husband Richard of Eunice, David Dempsey and wife Christine of Aztec, NM, Kevin Payne and wife Yevette of Orange Park, FL, Otis Wayne Langley Jr., and wife Karen of Sealey, Texas, Brian Langley and wife Julie of Mercer Island, WA, Chad Langley and wife Kyra of Santa Anna, Texas, Anise Langley of Austin, TX, Anise Langley of Austin, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren, Crystal Dempsey, Gabrielle Payne, Madeline Payne, Justin Provo, Taylor Provo, Jacob Langley, Garrett Langley, Karenessa Langley, Jordan Langley and Tyler Langley and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Langley her father Columbus Eugene Atwood, and mother Emma Arnold Atwood; four brothers, Leslie, Winson, Russell, and James Atwood.
