Agnes Rose was born Sept. 13, 1916 at Osage, IA. She had lived in Mt. Vernon for 39 years. She was a teacher and a volunteer at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, but was most proud to be a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Susanne Catholic Church of Mt. Vernon.
She married Walter T. Meirick on June 9, 1936 in New Haven, IA. He died Nov. 2, 1979.
Those that survive her include five sons, Joe Meirick, Don Meirick, Herbert Meirick all of Mt. Vernon, Bob Meirick of Frisco, CO and David Meirick of Monett, MO; three daughters, Carolyn Spradling, Kaye Woods and Jane Nelson, all of Mt. Vernon, MO; two sisters, Mary Miller of Mt. Vernon, MO and Ruth Sullivan of Waterloo; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
