Mrs. Laura Alice Hawkins of Texico died at 4:30 P.M. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Williams in Texico. She was 86 years, one month and 20 days old.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Panther Fork Missionary Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Melvin Chambliss will officiate. Buriel will be in the adjoining cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix where friends may call after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Sept. 6, in Texico, The daughter of William and Jane (Hall) Wimberly.

On Dec. 31, 1903, she was married to William Ira Hawkins who preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1953.

She is survived by three sons, Hayward Hawkins of Kalamazoo, Mich., Frank and John E. Hawkins both of Texico; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Williams and Mrs. Mabel Tate both of Texico; a brother, Samuel H. Wimberly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Olevia Smith of West Chicago, Ill., 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.]

Besides her husband, Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph and Herbert Hawkins.
